A further four defibrillators have been installed today: on the A695 at Branch End Play Area; at Birkdene (close to and opposite the junction with Welton Close); at New Ridley Road opposite Meadowfield Road; and on the B6309 at Hindley. It will take a few days for them to be activated on the ambulance service systems.
No apology is made for repeating the message that if you think you need to use a defibrillator on a person, you must dial 999 and speak to the ambulance service first. They will provide you with the location of a defibrillator, if it is within 500m, and will give you the access code.
Two further cabinets at Ridley Mill and Broomley still need to be connected to mains power before a defibrillator can be installed - this page will be updated again in due course.
