Some of the Council's new defibrillator cabinets have been installed at locations around Stocksfield - at Broomley, Hindley and Ridley Mill. The recent bad weather has delayed new power supplies to the cabinets but they should become operational within the next few weeks.
The new defibrillator cabinets planned for Birkdene, the A695 at Branch End Play Area and the junction of New Ridley Road and Meadowfield Road are due to be installed within the next week.
As soon as power is connected to each cabinet, a defibrillator will be installed inside and it will become active on the ambulance service systems within a matter of days.
It's been said before but it's worth repeating that in order to access a defibrillator you must first dial 999 and speak to the ambulance service. Where appropriate, they will give you the access code and location of the nearest defibrillator.
