A Service of Remembrance will be held on Sunday 8 November at St John's Church, led by Rev Pat Moran. However, in a one-off change to previous years, the Service will be open only to a small number of invited representatives of the community.
Sadly due to Covid-19 the Parish Council has concluded that the normal Remembrance Service at the war memorial cannot take place this year in a way that will ensure the safety of all those who might attend. This year the Remembrance Service will be streamed live on the Parish Council's Facebook page and there will be a formal wreath laying in the church. The Council hopes that many residents will wish to join us in remembering not only those who have given their lives for their country, but also those who have been injured during their service and the many who have served in the forces during more recent conflicts. Further details will be published before the Service.
The Council plans and hopes that the Remembrance Service will return to its usual format at the war memorial in 2021.
