Although the Government has allowed local authorities to open outdoor play areas from Saturday 4 July, before they can be opened, all local
authorities are required to ensure that suitable measures are in place to make the areas 'Covid-19 Secure'. The two play areas in Stocksfield will not open on Saturday and will remain closed until the Parish Council makes this assessment at its next meeting. The date of the next meeting is not yet fixed but is likely to be in the next few weeks.
Yet again the gate at Kate's Plain Play Area has been damaged to gain entry to the area and it has been reported that children and adults have been using the facilities. At the moment, using closed play facilities breaches the restrictions imposed by the Government. The Council again asks that everyone respects the closure notices and stays safe.
Further information will be provided as soon as it is available.
