The Secretary of State has announced that the proposed Order to improve the A69 at Styford has been withdrawn

by Highways England. The Parish Council, together with Bywell Parish Council, had objected to the Order and the Secretary of State had initially decided to hold a Public Inquiry. Clearly this Inquiry will not go ahead. Highways England may make revised proposals in the future but for now, at least, the improvements will not go ahead. The planned A69 improvements at Bridge End, Hexham are part of a separate Order.
