Discover your wild side

On Sunday 27 September, Northumberland Wildlife Trust will be hosting ‘Our Wildlife 2015’ at Kirkley Hall in Ponteland.

This day will bring together Trust staff, members, volunteers, supporters and the wildlife loving general public in a celebration of the fantastic wildlife of the region, and the work of the Trust in protecting it for future generations to enjoy.

Iolo Williams (BBC Springwatch, Countryfile and Iolo’s Special Reserves) will be helping to launch the day and there will be opportunity to meet him and ask your wildlife questions in a question and answer session.

But there won’t just be people talking about wildlife as everybody will be given the chance to meet it - getting up close and personal with many types of wildlife via a variety of activities including small mammal trapping and release, bird mist netting and release, and invertebrate spotting - both on land and in the water.

Wildlife drawing is also on the agenda, as are photography workshops, wildlife gardening sessions, forest crafts, sheep dog displays, mink rafting, marine watching and much more besides, not to mention half price entry to the Kirkely Hall Zoo and zip wire.
